History

The Harrison Group, Inc. was founded by Richard H. Miller, Jr., CPA in May of 1985. Originally established to perform financial planning services for individual clients, the firm modified its mission and began to establish Section 125 Cafeteria Plans for clients in 1987. Since then, The Harrison Group, Inc. has evolved into a third party administrator specializing in consumer-based employee reimbursement programs with a nationwide client network. While always keeping its mission of concierge customer service at the forefront, the company partnered with Wex Health in 2015 to bring a technological solution with functionality that no other platform may provide.

Today, we specialize in the technical consultation, design, implementation and administration of Health Reimbursement Arrangements, Flexible Spending Accounts, Health Savings Accounts, and other related services. We have developed a national client base of over 1,200 employers throughout 48 states including the District of Columbia that spans all industries. We partner with over 150 different benefit brokerage houses nationwide.

Our Founder & President

Richard H. Miller, Jr., CPA, began his professional career as an accountant with Hoyt, Devine & Company, CPA’s. After working primarily with closely-held businesses for four years, he served as a Controller and Financial Vice President. He then founded The Harrison Group, Inc. in May 1985 as a fee-only financial planning organization. In 1987 the firm began to establish Section 125 Plans for clients. Since then, The Harrison Group, Inc. has evolved into a firm that provides technical consulting and benefit plan design, implementation and administration services to a wide range of businesses and organizations throughout the United States.

Rich earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Villanova University and is a Certified Public Accountant, and an active member of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA).

Rich and his wife Estelle reside in Havertown, PA, where they raised their three children (Rich, Brian, and Laurie) and now enjoy free time with their grandchildren. Rich is an avid golfer and long-time member of Overbrook Golf Club in Villanova, PA.
